Day 7 South Island: Milford Sound

We started our journey from Queenstown to Milford Sound early Friday morning.
Distance: 287km
Time: 3 hrs 26 mins
Stopped at Te Anau town for a pit stop and to confirm our accomodation at Te Anau Holiday Park @ $125. Then it was onwards to Milford Sound. The Milford road, part of SH94 is one of the most scenic routes in the Southern Alps. The road passes through unspoiled mountain landscapes and lush greenery.

Places of interest along the way:
- Te Anau Lake
- Mirror Lakes
- The Chasm
- Homer Tunnel

Make sure you have a full tank of petrol from Te Anau as there are no petrol stations along the way except at MS.

Supposedly 'mirror like' reflection on the lake surface on a calm day
